Part 2: Yoga as the “And”

There’s a common belief that yoga has to be your thing—your passion, your identity, your daily discipline. But what if it didn’t have to be all that?

What if yoga could simply be the thing that helps you keep doing your things?

That’s how I approach yoga with my clients. Being incredible at yoga, holding a perfect handstand or a complicated bind is not the end goal—the goal is to make yoga the “and” that supports and allows you to continue doing all the things that both bring you joy and to live your best life. Yoga and running. Yoga and traveling. Yoga and parenting. Yoga and all the things you love.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether you can hold a split or touch your toes. What matters is whether you can regain your balance after you trip, sit comfortably through a long meeting, sleep through the night, or feel calm when your day is anything but.

The Physical + The Mindful

When I design yoga sessions, I’m always looking at two things: what’s physically going on in your body, and what’s mentally and emotionally going on in your life.

These two elements—movement and mindfulness—are inseparable. They’re two sides of the same coin.

The physical side is practical: we strengthen what’s weak, release what’s tight, improve balance, and address aches, injuries, and limitations. But just as important is the mental side, which often shows up in quieter ways. Breathwork, body awareness, and subtle mindfulness practices become tools for managing stress, improving sleep, and building resilience.

Most of my clients don’t come to me asking for those things directly. But over time, they start to notice: I’m sleeping better. I’m less reactive. I feel more grounded in my own body.

Designed for Real Life

What sets my approach apart is that I take the whole of your life into account. Not just your hamstring flexibility or shoulder mobility, but how stressed you’ve been, what your job demands, what’s going on at home, and what you love to do in your free time (if you even have any!).

That deeper understanding of each client as an individual with unique goals and limitations is what allows me to create programs that actually fit. Not a one-size-fits-all class, but a practice that supports your specific needs and goals.

Because yoga isn’t about becoming “good” at yoga. It’s about becoming better at being you.
